Where are you from? Where did you grow up?
Melbourne, Australia, born and bred!
How did you get into dancing and/or performing?
I started classes in Ballet, Jazz and Tap when I was three years old! It's been a love affair ever since. Ballet was my first true love and what I spent most of my time as a child studying, until I discovered I had a passion for Tap and Contemporary/Lyrical as well. That being said I love all styles! Always love me some daggy Jazz or fierce Commercial and I was always waaaay too into my high school's musical productions, as a choreographer and a performer!
What's your favourite/best performance you've been involved in? Any other highlights?
My favourite performance I've been involved in would probably have to be the first season of SIGNIFICANCE!
What's your experience with Attitude been like in the past?:
Amazing! I took classes with Attitude way back in the day, travelling over an hour by train every Sunday just to dance with Xavier and all the fantastic souls that were a part of those classes. I've done some of the holiday workshops, and more recently, been involved with Attitude Dance Company in their latest contemporary production of SIGNIFICANCE.
Where have you studied?
I trained at a couple of different schools in the suburbs as a child, the main being The Edge Performers School in Eltham before spending most of my training years at The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet, studying Ballet part time and then half-day. I then moved on to Jason Coleman's Ministry of Dance where I spent my last two years of high school in their Junior School and then became their first Junior school student to move up into their Full Time dance course! After graduating from there, I have since began studying my Cert IV in Dance Teaching and Business Management and completed a Teachers Course with the Acrobatic Dance Association.
What do you do for work?
I co-own with my life partner and fellow SIGNIFICANCE cast member Mikkayla Hornsby, Bound Dance in Sunbury & Craigieburn! When I'm not busy directing and teaching at the studio, I work part-time as the Assistant Manager at Capezio in Elsternwick.
What are your interests outside of dance?
It's all dance, all the time! I live and breathe the stuff. When I'm not working in the dance shop, I'm working on all things dance-related for the studio. And when I have time leftover in the week, I cram in a tap class! Does drinking an inordinate amount of coffee count as in interest?
What inspires you?
My partner, Mikkayla always inspires me every day to be the best me I can be both in and out of dance. I have many people who inspire and influence me in the dance world, some that I know personally and others that I follow on platforms such as YouTube and Instagram.
