Due to the ongoing Covid situation, restrictions around capacities and the current lockdown in the Geelong region, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the planned performances of our upcoming October performances of Fantasy.
After several years of work on this amazing show we are disappointed that we won’t be able to share it in the way we had hoped. While we will not be rescheduling the show, we have made a plan for our wonderful community to be able to enjoy Fantasy and all the hard work put in by our dedicated cast, creatives and production team.
In the coming weeks, we will be returning to Fantasy rehearsals, and soon filming the production in an “as live” format. This will be edited together and then presented as a feature film in 2023.
We would like to thank the incredible team that have worked on Fantasy, from our cast and crew, the creative team, our Hero’s Journey composer Markus Junnikkala, our incredible designer Mitchell Turek, costume/venue support from Sherree Nash and Jean Nash from Impetus Dance Theatre, Helen Duncan from Adult Ballet Studio Geelong, Ilana Russel from Platform Arts, Lisa Hunter from Geelong Lyric Theatre, Debbie Fraser from GSODA, Penni and Ian Nash-Gilchrist, Janette Shaw, Sharon McConachy, Kim McConachy and all of our friends and family for your ongoing support.
Ticket holders will have already or will shortly have their tickets refunded, and we thank you for your support. Some patrons have asked if they can donate their tickets to support the company, and while this would be very much appreciated, this is of course entirely optional. You can donate to ADC via our donate page.
We are so excited to be able to present Fantasy in the coming months as a film, even though it’s not how we initially imagined, we can’t wait for you to see the incredible effort from the Attitude Dance Company team.
